This test reports total testosterone levels up to 1500 ng/dL. If your level exceeds this, results will show “>1500 ng/dL,” instead of an exact value. In this case, free testosterone cannot be calculated accurately.

This test measures the total amount of testosterone in your blood, including the testosterone that’s both attached and not attached to proteins (albumin and sex hormone-binding globulin).
Albumin is a protein that circulates in the blood and plays several roles. It provides nourishment to the tissues, carries substances like hormones and drugs in the blood and helps keep fluids within the blood vessels. Low levels of albumin may indicate malnutrition or a disease of the liver, thyroid or kidneys, among other conditions. Higher than normal levels of albumin may suggest dehydration or other underlying health issues. Additionally, albumin is a factor used to calculate the free testosterone level.
Free testosterone refers to the portion of testosterone that is not bound to proteins (albumin and sex hormone-binding globulin) and is readily available for use in the body. It is the active form of testosterone that regulates sex drive (libido), bone mass, fat distribution, muscle mass and the production of red blood cells and sperm.
SHBG is a protein produced mainly in the liver that attaches to sex hormones in your bloodstream. Its primary function is to regulate the amount of active sex hormones in your body. When SHBG binds to sex hormones, like testosterone, they become inactive and cannot be used by your tissues. Only the sex hormones that are "free," or unattached to proteins like SHBG, can be utilized in the body. By measuring the level of SHBG in your body, you can accurately calculate free testosterone levels.
Standard glucose tests only measure blood sugar levels at the time the sample is collected. This HbA1c (hemoglobin A1c) test measures your average blood sugar level over an extended period (8-12 weeks) and is a useful tool for screening for prediabetes and diabetes.
Knowing your average blood sugar levels serves as a critical indicator of your health. Consistently elevated blood sugar levels often indicate prediabetes and diabetes: a serious disease that can ultimately affect the health and function of other parts of the body including your nervous system, cardiovascular system, eyes and kidneys.

Testing free T3 level can help you and your healthcare provider evaluate symptoms and conditions that may be related to a free T3 level. Free T3 is often evaluated in the context of other thyroid function tests such as thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and free T4 to gain a full picture of your thyroid health.
Free T3, or triiodothyronine, is a hormone produced by the thyroid gland that plays a crucial role in regulating metabolism, heart function and overall energy levels. This test measures the amount of free T3 in the blood, which is the active form not bound to proteins. A free T3 level helps assess thyroid function and evaluate conditions such as hyperthyroidism (too much thyroid hormone) or pituitary disorders. Elevated free T3 levels may indicate an overactive thyroid, which can lead to symptoms such as irregular heartbeat, weight loss, anxiety and fatigue.
Inflammation is part of your body’s natural defense mechanism in response to injury, infection or irritants created to combat and fix the damage or symptom.
This high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) blood inflammation test measures the level of the C-reactive protein: a substance made by the liver in response to inflammation. The results of this inflammation test may indicate the presence of an illness, injury or infection. Elevated CRP levels are associated with several diseases and conditions including chronic inflammation, heart disease, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and cancer.
Note: CRP levels can be elevated from intense exercise (weight training or a long run), recent injury, illnesses or infection. Further testing and clinical consultation with a health care provider may be required to determine the source of CRP elevation.
This test measures (at high sensitivity) the level of C-reactive protein: a substance made by the liver in response to inflammation. Elevated CRP levels are associated with several diseases and conditions including chronic inflammation, heart disease, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and cancer.

Your results will be provided to you through our secure online portal to view or print. Results are also made available through a secure portal to the independent healthcare provider who placed your test order.
